Start with Private Sessions to ensure you are targeting all your behavior, manners and training needs.
Once ready jump into our Basics Class to gain confidence in a much higher distractive environment.
Once you have graduated head into our On The Road Classes and head out and about!

Orientation
Welcome to The Hounds Grounds
Orientation will be your first step for all new clients/dogs going into Group Classes unless you are purchasing a Starter Program. It is a working session with your dog that will get you started with the foundation for your dogs manners. In this one hour class we cover jumping, food manners, crate protocol, door boundaries, and how to create overall calm in your dog. You will also learn Marker Training which is a simple way to communicate with your dog that makes it easy for them to understand when they have done something correctly.

Basics
For dogs needing manners and basic obedience who have little or no training.

Basics Group Class for dogs 5 months and older
Basics is for dogs who need to learn their basic manners & obedience.
Our classes are Open Enrollment, meaning you sign up for each class as you are ready to come. We understand busy lifestyles make it difficult to maintain an every week class commitment. We want you to succeed in training, not be stressed that if you miss a class you won't be able to catch up.
After you purchase your package you will need to attend our Orientation as your first session (you will find this once you are registered with us. This is a 50min class to start you off with your behavior/manners foundation before you register to attend your group class obedience. We will cover Foundational material and understanding markers for clear communication with your dog.
We keep classes small in order to help everyone from the new dog in class to the more advanced dog who is forging into graduation.

Train Through Game
***** MUST BE A Group Class PACKAGE HOLDER *****

** Prerequisite Basics Group Class or Trainer Approval.
** Your dog must already have an understanding of Basic Obedience for this class. Sit, Down, Stay, Place, Recall.
****** Be sure to attend a Train Through Game Orientation prior to coming to your first class.
This Class is for Puppy and Adult dogs over 4 months old.
The Training is done through game such as Tug, Ball, Flirt-pole, Spring Pole etc. We find what YOUR dog enjoys and begin a higher level of training from the start.
An amazing thing happens when you use game/play in training. We get a dog that really enjoys the work portion of the session! This is due to the fulfillment he/she gains through the relationship time spent playing with YOU. Along with the WAY we play the game. We create a higher level of impulse control and a much higher bond in relationship.
We satisfy Mental and Physical needs in our dogs which will create a much more fulfilled and happy dog. We teach our dogs to move in and out of an adrenalized/excited state to a clam happy relaxed state.
Training Through Game allows us to control the environment while allowing the dogs to practice high levels of adrenaline/excitement while we work them in and out of state of mind changes, obedience and more.
We will only have 4 spots available for each class as we will work one on one with each person. You will absolutely learn from EVERY dog/handler team that enters the training space.
PLEASE BRING A NOTEBOOK AND TAKE NOTES.
What you will learn:
HOW to use game with your dog for training and the importance of understanding the Game you are playing.
You will work on higher levels of Impulse Control to strengthen everything you have learned in Basics.
This class is to learn The Game your dog loves and move through their basic obedience. Training Through Game Level Two will go into new more advanced behaviors.
*This is also the pre-requisit class for anyone wanting into Sports Club.
*You will be working on and off leash during class.
Plan on a more physical training session as it IS through game, wear appropriate clothing and shoes, ensure your dog is on a safe leash and collar that they can not get out of.

On The Road
Intermediate Group Class

Congratulations, we see you have graduated Basics or you have completed an Eval and are ready to up your game. Wooo Whoooo!
Welcome!
This is an Open Enrollment Class, register for each class.
Our On The Road Group Class takes it to the real world testing your leash skills on a pack walk and into an outdoor training area. This will have challenges such as other dogs, people, kids, squirrels, skateboard, etc.
Our Pack walk allows all the dogs to migrate together in a calm manner moving through distractive spaces. Once at our outdoor destination we being our Obedience.
If you have already done some training with your dog and feel he/she does not require our Basics Class give us a ring and we would be happy to eval your dog and get them started in our On The Road Class.

50min per class
ADVANCED ADULT DOG TRAINING
Prerequisite: Adult Intermediate Dog Training or Eval
Our six week Advanced Dog Training course focuses on implementing Advanced Obedience, Focus Heeling, Stay/Sit/Down in Motion, Middle/Guard Positions and more.
You will also delve deeper into behavior by learn how to read your dog better and advocate for your dog when they are uncomfortable, when kids and/or adults ask to pet your dog and more.
Maintenance
Prerequisite: Eval or approval from Trainer. Please call.
This is a group class to maintain all the hard work you have done with your dog.
We combine impulse control, confidence building, and obedience in a fun group class to work on keeping you and your dogs skills sharp.
We encourage you to come at least a couple times a month in order for your training to stick and to give your dog a fun outlet that will exercise both his mind and body. Even if you have completed your training elsewhere, you are welcome to attend after completing an evaluation.

AKC
Canine Good Citizen
and just like that, it's time
To show off all your hard work, your team work, your rock star skills. We are so excited to offer you this 2 week prep course for your AKC ~ Canine Good Citizen Certification.
We will cover and practice the important pieces of training that will be required to pass the AKC CGC test.
We hold the test the week following completion of the 2 week prep course.
If you would like testing only without the course please feel free to give us a call to set up an appointment.
Does your dog have all the qualities of a Therapy Dog? We would be thrilled to evaluate your dog for such an important job. Once evaluated we can get you going in the right direction.
Dogs first have to obtain their AKC ~ CGC Certification. Once completed we can get approved dogs signed up for our Therapy Dog Prep Class which will get you ready for your testing to become a Certified Therapy Dog team.
