Parkour FAQ
Parkour is a physical sport about moving through the environment and conquering obstacles. It can include climbing, balancing, jumping, crawling under, going around, creativity and partnership. Nicknamed urban agility, Parkour can be a challenging fun journey. Parkour can be done anywhere and is only limited by your imagination!
Parkour encourages communication and teamwork with your dog. Even if you already have a great relationship, working together can deepen your bond. Parkour builds confidence, body awareness, and conditioning. Parkour also teaches impulse control and can be mentally challenging. A great way to give your dog something to do on a rainy or hot day while indoors is to work Parkour techniques. After a Parkour session dogs are satisfied and relaxed. It's adaptable to all ages and skill sets. Plus dogs love it! Parkour can make your walk an adventure so your dog is never bored, even in a short session.
All the foundation skills for the Novice Level will be introduced. Most importantly, the human team members will learn about safety, spotting, how to assist dogs on and off obstacles. Dogs will be introduced to a variety of skills and exercises to succeed in this dynamic sport. All teammates will practice good techniques for a future of fun.
